Obituary of Edna Belle Klis

Edna Belle Klis, age 76, of Rome, passed away peacefully August 30, 2014, with her loving family at her side. She was born September 25, 1937, in Homer, NY, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace Brown Green, and graduated from Westmoreland High School. Edna was formerly married to Frederick Klis. She was a former owner of the Cloverleaf Motel in Westmoreland. Edna is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Linda and Richard Fitsik of Rome, and Debra Acee of Rome; two sons and a daughter in law, Joseph and Donna Klis of Westmoreland, and John Klis of Rome; three sisters, Ruth Januchowski of Clark Mills, Elesa Stoddard of Clark Mills, and Leslie Green of Westmorland; three brothers, Thomas Green of Clark Mills, Edward Green of Florida, and John Green of New London; a special friend, John Tarkowski; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 5 brothers. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.
