My sincere sympathy to all of Walt's family. He was a man who I've always respected and admired. I remember custom sawing loads of beautiful hemlock that he had brought for a barn for him and sons at our sawmill on Witzigman Road. And then last year when my father, Charlie Gallo, was at Sunset Nursing Home, Dad and Walt enjoyed many visits with each other...they had a bit of a mutual admiration society...Dad said Walt was the best farmer in Oneida County and Walt said Dad had done such good work for him in the woods. Walt was a real gentleman - I'll miss his smile.
