Josephine Pelano, age 100, of Rome, passed away peacefullyon May 1, 2019 at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehab Center.
Josephine was born in Rome on March 19, 1919 to the lateStanley and Anastasia Kostyn, and was educated in the Rome Schools. On April 27,1942, she was united in marriage to Patrick E. Pelano, Sr; a blessed union of 52 years until his passing on November 29, 1993.
Josephine is survived by a daughter and son in law, Joyce and Raymond Walker of Verona; a son and daughter in law, Patrick Jr. and Janine Pelano of Rome; grandchildren, Katelyn (Craig) Stumler, and Jolene (Scott) Nelson; two great grandchildren, Dominic and Damien Nelson; a sister, Helen Dosiek and sister in law Caroline Baptiste and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Patrick J. Pelano; a sister, Kathryn Kryczkowski; and three brothers, Joseph, John and Michael Kostyn; and several brothers and sisters in law.
The family would like to thank the staff at Betsy Ross for their care and compassion shown to Josephine during her stay.
Funeral services will be private.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.Chestnut Street.
