T-Bear was awesome to play for. He was such a steadying factor on the 1984 RCH Basketball Team. He definitely played an integral part in our success. But more than anything he was fun to talk to and be around. We always knew he really cared about his players. My deepest sympathies to all the family during this difficult time.

Crystal, Tricia, and Kelly, I am deeply saddened to hear of Tom's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Tom was my favorite friend of Bob's for many reasons. He was always so kind and happy and wonderful to be around. I will never forget his smile and being Best Man at our wedding. He was caring and good to many people. Both of you were always wonderful hosts when I would visit your home many years ago and I have never forgotten our good times. I wish I could have seen you both. Your family is beautiful and I'm so sorry you have to go through this, Crystal and Girls. You have been on my mind, in my heart, and in my prayers every day since Tom has passed. I know he will be missed beyond words. May God bless you, fill you with peace and love and hold you in His arms. Love, Marianne Vero

"We remember Tom Barry in his youth at Rome Catholic High School and the years we shared together there as we grew into adulthood. We were pleased that our class was about to reach its 50th reunion in 2021 and will miss his early leaving from this earth. Our condolences to Tom Barry's family (and remembering his parents), to our Catholic community, to the youth sports, and to the city of Rome. Our prayers are with him and may he rest in peace until we join him in the afterlife. Amen. " Julie Ann Racino, RCH-Rome Catholic High School, Class of 1971

I've had the pleasure of working closely with Tom over the years on the Board of the Rome Sports Hall of Fame & Museum. When I met Tom I couldn't believe a guy could be SO friendly, SO motivated, SO helpful and just such an overall great guy. Well...he made me a believer. Tom was all those things and more. I lost my father at the same age as Tom and I know how devastating it is to the family. Please know my family's thoughts and prayers are with you in this very difficult time. Hold on to the fact that Tom was a true Christian and the Lord will make a home for him in heaven. You'll see him again, and what a joyful reunion that will be! Rest easy old friend until we meet again.
