Obituary of Paul Gymburch

Paul Gymburch, age 84, of Town of Lee, passed away March 27, 2010, at Stonehedge Nursing Home.
He was born July 1, 1925, in Lee Center, a son of Charles and Anna Kyreliev Gymburch, and educated in West Leyden schools. Paul was united in marriage to the former Sally Lappin, on September 1, 1951, at St. Patrick's Church, Taberg. He was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator at Griffiss Air Force Base, retiring many years ago. He was a proud veteran of the Army Air Corps and served in the Asiatic Theater during WW II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Lee Center, Lee American Legion Post 1794, and the Point Rock Fish and Game Club.
Paul was and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in his garden. He also was an avid reader and often would read 4 or 5 books a week.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sally; a daughter and son in law, Elaine and David Jeroszko of Brockport; two sons and daughters in law, Gerald and Jeanne Gymburch of Deerfield, and Richard and Susan Gymburch of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Pauline Bodnar of Rome; a brother, John Gymburch of Ava; grandchildren, Brian, Daniel, Erin, Sarah and Matthew Gymburch; a special friend, John Savak; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Herter and two brothers, Michael and Alex Gymburch.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Lee Center. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 4 to 7 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Memorial Fund.
