Obituary of Richard L. Loope

Richard L. Loope Richard L. Loope, age 80, of Rome, passed away May 28, 2010, in Rome Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born March 30, 1930, in Syracuse, a son of Lewis C. and Betty Testa Loope, and educated in Syracuse schools. Richard was formerly employed at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, City of Utica Codes Enforcement Office and as a fraud investigator for New York State, working in the Albany, New York and Buffalo offices.He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Richard is survived by a brother, Kenneth Loope of Utica, and Palm Bay, FL; a step-son, John Nobles of Rome, and an longtime friend, Don Seward of Floyd. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM at St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. NY. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome, NY.
