I will never forget applying for a job with Dr. Lim, my first chance to get out of the house after staying home until both my children were in school. He interviewed me in a very methodical fashion......first asking questions about why I wanted to work there, my employment history, etc., then giving me a verbal spelling test. I was in my 30's, standing there like a schoolgirl spelling the words he called out. I misspelled "ascension" and had to give its meaning....then I took a typing test - this was in l975, and I hadn't had to type for anyone but myself in years, and it was an ELECTRIC typewriter. Well, I had never used one of those before, and "stuttered" in print - but somehow I got the job anyway. He was a great family man who loved teaching, and I did learn a lot from him that I find myself still relying upon in my current job. He could really try my patience, but had a big heart. We worked together for l7 years and I considered him a friend as well as am employer. I could share some very funny stories from our office days, but will leave those for someone else to relate.
