Anthony "Sonny" J. Lombino, age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving family at his side.
He was born December 11, 1933, in Rome, a son of Emmanuele and Mary Favata Lombino, and educated in Rome schools. Anthony was united in marriage to the former Helen Gostini (DiGustini), on August 28, 1954, in the Church of St. John the Baptist; she died November18, 2005. He was the owner of Lombino's market in Rome for many years. He was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Anthony is survived by a son, Anthony J. Lombino, Jr. of Rome; three daughters and two sons in law, Lisa and Louis, Sr, LaBella of New Hartford, Lori Ferrare of Rome, and Lynne and Mike Miller of Rome; a brother, Joseph Lombino of Rome; and grandchildren, Louis Labella, Jr and Christopher LaBella, and Gabrielle Ferrare. He was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Fontana and Frances Reno and a son in law, Robert Ferrare.
Funeral services will be private.
In keeping with Anthony's wishes, there is no calling hours.
The family sincerely thanks Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and compassion extended to Anthony during his illness.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
