Obituary of Luis A. Melendez Otero

Luis A. Melendez Otero, age 44, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2019 at home.

 

Luis was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on July 9, 1975 to Luis and Blance Otero Melendez. On June 15, 2013, he was united in marriage to the former Ashley LaMont at St. Paul's Church in Rome. Luis worked at the Family Dollar Distribution Center as well general construction.

 

Luis enjoyed nature and cartoons, especially dragon ball-z, paint balling and he also loved children.

 

Luis is survived by his wife, Ashley; his parents, Luis and Blanca; his children, Elizabeth, Laila, Lyam, Luis, and Gabrielle; several siblings; special siblings Jackie and Vanessa, his sisters in law, Elaine Otero and Michelle (Dominick) Ankin; his brother in law, Michael (Amanda) LaMont; and Ashley's godparents, Debbie and Jerry, several cousins, nieces, Nephews, and special friends Doug, Matt and “Paul”lette. 

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be private.

 

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
