Obituary of Susan E. Bowersox-MacCormack
Cancer Sucks!
Susan E. Bowersox-MacCormack, age 67, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2019, after a courageous four year battle with cancer.
Sue was born in Baltimore, MD on March 20, 1952 to the late Bob and Nancy Wardwell Woodside. She received her Associate’s Degree from Mildred Elley College, Albany. She worked as a lab supervisor at Rome Memorial Hospital, retiring after 33 years of service.
On August 19, 2018, Susan married John MacCormack, her long time love at a ceremony held in their back yard, surrounded by friends. She enjoyed reading, traveling and also liked to experiment with cooking, often making John the taste tester. She will be missed by her dog, Winnie, who gave her so much comfort. Sue was loved by all that knew her.
Sue is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, John; her sisters, Barbara (Gary) Raymond, Kimberley (William) Turmel, and Frances (John) Faber; her brothers, Robert, David, and Doug Woodside, Donald (Denise) Bacon, Robert (MaryAnn) Bacon, and Jeff (Caryn) Bacon; her brothers and sisters in law, Doug (Shirley) MacCormack, Robert (Marie) MacCormack, Susan (Jonathan) McLaughlin, and Karen (Jerry) Byrne; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends including Paul and Louise Markey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 10 AM at the Zion Episcopal Church. Burial will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 12 PM at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica, MA.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Wednesday, September 11 from 4 to 7 PM.
