Obituary of Patricia A. Melioris
ROME, NY - Patricia Arvilla Melioris, 81, of Rome, NY, died peacefully Friday, September 11, 2020 with her family by her side.
She was born on September 20, 1938, in Boonville, NY, the daughter of Leonard Austin Woodill, and Rosetta Marie Solmon Woodill. Patricia was a 1956 graduate of Boonville High School and earned her associates degree at Syracuse School of Commerce. On May 20th, 1961, she married Joseph Gerald Melioris at St. Mary's Church, Rome. Patricia worked 37 years for Rome Air Developmental Center in their procurement division. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish in Rome. Patricia was an active member of the Rome Family YMCA for many years where she enjoyed water exercise classes.
Patricia's true passion was technology and the arts, mastering Microsoft and Apple products, cake decorating, candy making and special art projects. Patricia truly enjoyed spending time with her family and, especially with her beloved six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She loved socializing and talking to everyone that she crossed paths with her.
Surviving are her two sons, Joseph II (Colleen) of Rome, and Todd (Kate) of Johns Creek, GA; two brothers, Leonard Woodill (Linda), Thomas Woodill (Colleen); six cherished grandchildren, Joseph III, Mark, Megan Gentile (Shane), Evan, Ella and Bryson; and two treasured great grandchildren Joseph IV and Sean. Patricia was predeceased by her adored husband, Joseph Gerald Melioris in May of 2003 after 42 years of marriage; and one brother, Francis Woodill, in 1992.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, at 11:00 AM, at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Family and Friends are invited to call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street, Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM. Face masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
