Obituary of Renee E. Gilmore
Renee E. Gilmore, age 43, of Rome, passed away on November 26, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after a brief illness.
Renee was born in Rome on March 25, 1977 to Joseph and Beverly Mattia Nasci. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and received her Associate’s Degree from SUNY Morrisville. On June 6, 2010, she was united in marriage to David Gilmore. Renee was currently employed at BNY Mellon in Oriskany.
Renee was a kind and loving soul who would do anything for her family and friends. She was a member of the John E. Joy PTG and a communicant of St. Peter’s Church. She also had a hobby of collecting Tupperware, which her daughter, Kaitlyn, now shares the same passion for.
Renee is survived by her husband, David; her children, Kaitlyn and Kenny; her parents, Joe and Bev Nasci of Rome; a brother, Joseph (Elizabeth) Nasci of Rome; her maternal grandmother, Rose Mattia; her mother and father in law, Richard and Catherine Gilmore of Camillus; two sisters in law, Megan (Ron) Law, and Sarah (Jeff) O’Neill; nephews and nieces, Bryan, Nicholas, MacKenzie, Madison, Allison, and Emily; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially her uncle, Ed (Nancy) Mattia whom she shared a close bond with, and her cousin, Kelly LeFleur, who was like a sister to Renee. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Ed Mattia Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 AM at St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Peter’s Church on Monday from 10 to 11 AM prior to the funeral. Those attending are required to have a face covering and adhere to the social distancing guidelines.
