Obituary of Bruce A. Lyman
Bruce A. Lyman, age 85, of the Town of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
He was born November 8, 1935, in Rome, to the late Melvin and Rose Miller Lyman, and educated in Westmoreland schools. Bruce was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, the former Shirley J. Clark, on September 1, 1956, at St. Peter’s Church. He worked as a brick layer for Special Metals, and was a member of St. Peter’s/St. Mary’s Parish.
Bruce enjoyed sports in his younger days especially basketball, baseball, volleyball, and bowling. He was a former member of the Stanwix Heights Men’s Club. In his later years, he enjoyed his retirement days by spending time with his ever growing family.
Bruce is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Frank Carletta of Rome, Kelley and Paul Powers of Grafton, MA, and Katrina and Brian Webb of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Rebecca Lyman of Rome; grandchildren, Stacey, Caroline, Paul, Alyce, Sara, Chloe, Megan, Jacob, Cody; nine great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Teurman and Rosalie Lyman; and a brother, Ronald Lyman, Sr.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
