Obituary of Carol A. DiMatteo
Carol A. DiMatteo, age 76, of Rome, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2021 at the Abraham House of Rome.
Carol was born in Oneida on December 4, 1944 to the late Thomas and Margaret Carroll Beasock. She was united in marriage to Kenneth “Ken” DiMatteo on April 4, 1970. Carol worked at the Radisson Hotel for many years as a banquet server. She was an avid communicant of the Church of the Annunciation. She was a member of the church’s prayer and rosary groups and often was seen volunteering for many of the church’s events.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, Ken; a daughter, Suzanne (Paul) Herzner of Westchester, NY; two grandchildren, Justin and Julia Herzner; three sisters, Joanne Stockbridge, Millie (Randy) Rieker, and Tracy (Rod) Bronson; two brothers, Peter Beasock, and Robert (Cindy) Beasock; several nieces and nephews; and her feline companion, Angel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30 PM after the mass.
Those attending calling hours and/or the funeral mass are required to have a facial covering and only a limited number of people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at one time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or the Abraham House of Rome.
