My mom, Mary Lombardo, and Betty were cousins. But to hear them talk, they were more like sisters and best friends. I would drive my mom to Rome so that they could spend time together. They shared a love of sewing and crafting and my mom passed that passion on to me. Whenever I sew I feel close to my mom and after she passed I would call Betty to hear more stories of their escapades. My mom also introduced Betty to Kenny and although I never met him Betty talked of him with great love. My sincere condolences to John, Michelle and Michael. Betty talked of all of you with love and admiration. I will miss her voice and her stories but am comforted to know she is reunited with those who went to His Kingdom before her.

Mr. & Mrs. Grider were like second parents to me. I am where I am today in no small part by the influence & love from Kenny & Betty. I very often look back with fond and thankful memories with gratefulness to God for his promises that he is indeed the father of the fatherless. I would sit hours on end and hang out with Ken, my brother and sister would swim, play race track, darts, pilncio machine, burning barrel, ditch digging, shed cleaning, RC Cars, Amiga Computer, weed popping, leaf raking, and of course the yearly garage sale. It's said they don't make them like this anymore but every time I cut on my saw, play chess, use my router table with my kids or the neighbors, I think of Ken and some of his character shine's thru... Blessed to have Known them. John & Family, very sorry for your loss & you will be in our prayers. May God Richly Bless You...

Betty and I met in 1977 when we worked together at JC Penney in Rome. She and her husband, Kenny, became our forever friends. Betty was at her best when she was helping someone, at work or in life. She dearly loved her sister, Joanne (Tootie), and loved to tell stories about the two of them growing up in Rome. When Betty lost her husband, she lost the love of her life but between her friends, neighbors and family, she found the strength to go on and had a good life. She loved to shop, go to the casino or just out to lunch with friends. She was very proud of her grandson, Michael, and all his accomplishments.
My husband, Ed, and I will cherish all our memories with Kenny and Betty and thank God they were a part of our lives.
