Obituary of Mary K. Gatley
Mary K. Gatley, of Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville, and formerly of Lee Center, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021.
Mary was born August 19, 1926, in James City, PA, a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Michel Trinchik. The family moved to Taberg, NY, soon after and worked and owned a dairy farm. Educated in Annsville schools, Mary left school after 8th grade to help out on the family farm. During WW II, she worked at Rome Manufacturing where she met her future husband, Walter. Married on May 17, 1952, they had four children. During her lifetime, Mary enjoyed everything outdoors; hiking, biking, raising chickens and other farm animals, and most of all, working in her garden. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with friends, neighbors and her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lee Center, and enjoyed decorating the altar as part of the St. Joseph’s Church Altar Rosary Society.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert (Kelly), Terry (Patty), Paul (Sue), and Lori Yager (Mike); sisters, Millie Piersall (Darwin), and Carrol Farrell (Joe); 11 grandchildren, Eric (Trish), Chris, Kevin, Joseph, Katherine, Hannah, Hailey, Heather Hewlett (Scott), Sarah Barcomb (Carl) Caitlyn Montross (Brandon) and Brendan; nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Walter, her parents, a sister, Ann, and brothers, Joe, Andy and Paul.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 12 Noon at St. Joseph’s Church, Lee Center. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday from 11 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the funeral.
