Obituary of Doris B. Palinski

Doris B. Palinski, age 98, of Rome, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022, with her loving family at her side.

She was born May 17, 1923, in Rome, a daughter of the Edward and Iona Meyers Burns, and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in 1941.  Doris was united in marriage to Michael Palinski on February 27, 1946, in St. Peter’s Church; he died on February 11, 1996.

Doris was a devoted Catholic, who’s life revolved around her family and her church.  She had the good fortune to support her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting and social events over the years.

Doris is survived by a daughter and son in law, Suzanne and Michael Shaw of Rome, five sons and three daughters in law, Edward and Pam Palinski of Rome, Richard and Kathleen Palinski of Rome, Thomas Palinski of Rome, Lawrence and Wendy Palinski of Westernville, and Robert Palinski of Rome; nine grandchildren, Beth, Andy, Kathleen, David, Jennifer, Kim, Kristen, Christopher and Megan; and eight great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her father, Edward, her mother, Iona, her step-father, Edward Iseneker, sister Jeanne Zurbrugg, a daughter in law, Marilyn Palinski, and granddaughter, Jessi Palinski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM, at St. Peter’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There are no calling hours. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
