Obituary of Michael E. Wooldridge

Michael E. Wooldridge, age 73, of Rome, passed away on June 27, 2022, at Rome Health.

He was born October 8, 1948, in Utica, a son of the late Edward and Anna Mae Cusworth Wooldridge. Michael was united in marriage to the former Lorna Parsons, on March 8, 1980, in Washington, D.C. He attended Utica schools and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor Degree in Geology. Michael worked for many years at the National Weather Service, and later worked at Birnie Bus Service in Rome. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1969.

Michael was an avid builder and collector of model trains and an avid collector of early and old computer systems.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lorna; sons, Robert Carter of Elizabethtown, PA, and Michael Carter of Rome; sisters, Claire Howland of Guyton, GA, and Sandra Adams of Holland Patent; a brother, Russell Deetz of Sauquoit; and grandsons, Noah and Wyatt Carter. He was predeceased by sisters, Helen Schwarz and Carole Murray; and brothers, Robert Deetz and Leonard Wooldridge.

The funeral service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
