Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Nadeau
Elizabeth Anne Nadeau, age 63, of the Town of Lee and Verona, passed away unexpectedly, on October 14, 2022, at The Oneida Healthcare Facility.
She was born October 26, 1958, in Rome, daughter of the late Peter N. and Patricia Haley Charney. “Liz” worked for 47 years in food service at Rome Memorial Hospital starting in the dish room as a part-time student employee and worked her way up retiring as Food Service Director in 2021; a career that she truly loved and was very proud of. She was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
“Liz” lived a very active life. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and the Caribbean, and even a trip to South Africa with her long-time companion Darrell Curtis. She loved cats and fostered many cats over the years. She also will be missed by the deer hunters as the greeter and smiling face at Curtis Custom Cutting in Verona. She always joked that Darrell was “back of the house.”
“Liz" is survived by her loving companion of over 25 years, Darrell; siblings, Katherine A. and Richard Simpson of Camden, Michele A. and David Perella of Cicero, Mary R. Charney of Black River, Joan E. Salmon of Florence and Peter W. and Kathy Charney of Waldorf, MD; niece Patricia (Simpson) and Scott Rausch and nephews Robert and Anette Simpson, Nicholas and Jess Charney and Christopher and Jaime Charney and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Nadeau and sister, Cynthia Charney.
