Obituary of Anthony Frank Recchio
Anthony Frank Recchio, 41, loving father, husband and son, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 10, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
Anthony was the son of Karen and Sean McNamara and the late David Recchio. He was a graduate of the RFA class of 2000. Anthony was a very talented, skilled and passionate carpenter. He LOVED a challenge! A custom built in, barrel ceiling or wall, crazy pitched roof--- he couldn’t get enough. The stories he told about his past experiences are vast, and most are hilarious. He would always say construction guys aren’t always the brightest, but he truly enjoyed going to work every day.
He had a love for music ranging from the 60’s, 70’s, 90’s and today. He had a great passion for the Beatles, especially John Lennon and Maynard James Keenan’s bands especially Tool. His knowledge about musical artists was amazing, he often remembers the years songs or albums came out without difficulty regardless of genre.
Anthony was a people person; he could find something to relate to everyone he met. He would constantly stop at the side of the road to help another person without ever thinking twice. Everyone who met him loved him almost instantly, his smile and laugh were contagious.
Anthony’s love for his entire family is unparalleled. His extreme dedication and devotion to the family he created was unwavering. His son Angelo David, was the air to his lungs, the blood to his heart, his everything. They were each other’s best friends, they would play guitar together, do wheelbarrow races, mow the lawn, drive Anthony’s truck on the extra lot and make daily memories. Anthony married Caitlin (Comeskey) at St Mary’s Church in Clinton NY on October 10, 2015. Their union has been blessed with love. Anthony loved his immediate and extended family as much as he loved life itself. He was often found to be calling his mom for recipe advice or his step-father and uncles for advice on a current project. Family was his core.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Caitlin and his son Angelo. Also surviving are his parents Karen and Sean McNamara; step-grandmother, Joan McNamara; his brothers David Recchio and Jeremy McNamara (Meg); sister Jenny Recchio (Craig Widrig); his in laws, Patrick and Maria Comeskey, Kelly and Hans Hagg and Brian Comeskey (Larissa Kallaur). He also leaves his nieces and nephew Gabriella Widrig, Emmeline McNamara, Liliana and Hailey Comeskey, Nina Hagg and Michael Sportello. He is survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Gisella Cimino, and paternal grandparents Michael and Angela Recchio.
Anthony gave a truly noble and altruistic gift of helping 3 families through organ donation. Although our loss is indescribable, we are so grateful to have been able to give the gift of life to others.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, will be held Friday at 11:00 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
