Obituary of Douglas Lee Brazinski

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Douglas Lee Brazinski, age 70, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home, on January 20, 2023.

Doug was born in Utica, NY to the late Edwin & Viola (Gauthier) Brazinski. On July 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Joan M. Dousharm; a blessed union of 50 years until her passing on July 30, 2021.

Drawing from his interests as both a professional musician and a business manager with New York State, Doug founded Caldwell Bennett Inc. (CBI Cables), which he proudly developed into a thriving manufacturing business in the music industry over the past 40 years.

Doug enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, his beloved cats, and was a regular visitor to the Adirondacks, where he had many lifelong friends. He contributed regularly to countless charities and organizations, and volunteered in several leadership positions, including on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Ridge Riders.

Doug is survived by his sons, Paul (Bonnie) Brazinski of New Hartford, and Brian Brazinski of Rome; five grandchildren, Audrey, Aaron, Mena, Cole, and Carter; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Brazinski, niece Kristin, and nephew Scott. He was predeceased by his brother, David Brazinski.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, with a memorial service held 7 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
