Obituary of Louis J. Mariani, Jr.
Louis “Louie” J. Mariani, age 44, of the Town of Lee, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2023, surrounded by his family at SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
Louis was born in Rome on April 5, 1979 to Louis and Patricia Bertrand Mariani, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. He worked for various local companies in the insurance and finance business including MetLife and BNY Mellon. He was an amazing son, brother, father, and uncle who had a heart of gold, a unique sense of humor, and a smile that could light up any room. He enjoyed long drives, camping with his family, and watching movies. Louis was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the San Francisco 49ers and the NY Yankees. Most of all, he loved to be with his family making memories that they now will forever cherish.
Louis is survived by his parents, Louis and Patricia; his children, Erica and Louis III; his sister, Stacy (Joe) Preski; his brother, Anthony (Emily) Mariani; his nieces and nephews, Kaylee and Gevin Verhoeven, Alana, Jenna, and Amelia Preski, Allison, Anthony, and Nicholas Mariani; his great nieces, Olivia and Giuliana Verhoeven; his paternal grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joanne and Ron Bertrand.
Per Louis’ wishes, services will be private.
