Mary Ann Lyman, age 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at MVHS-St. Luke’s Campus.

 

Mary Ann was born in Rome on July 31, 1939 to the late Marlowe and Alice (Farnsworth) Gardinier. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1957. She worked for NY Telephone in her younger years and the Rome DDSO where she retired as a supervisor. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church. Mary Ann loved shopping, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandson, Eli.

 

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Sam) Tallarino of Rome; her sons, Ronald “Bill” (Sandy) Lyman, Jr., and Patrick Lyman both of Rome; her grandchildren, Samuel (Alicia), Nicholas, Kaleigh (Robert), Laura, and Jen; her great grandson, Eli; her sisters, Patricia (Alfred) Roman, and Nancy (Salvatore) Tuzzolino; her brother, Stephen Gardinier; her brother-in-law, E. “Conse” Console and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice Console.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon.

 

Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Monday from 4 to 7 PM.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Window Fund.
