Obituary of Bonnie Jean Moorehead
Bonnie Jean Moorehead, age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Rome Health.
Bonnie was born in New Hartford on October 26, 1946 to the late Archibald and Larelda Chabott Jennings, and educated in the Whitesboro Schools. On September 27, 1986, she was united in marriage to Joseph Moorehead, in Rome; a blessed union until his passing on November 28, 2021. Bonnie worked as a lunch monitor and teacher's aide for the Rome City School District at Denti Elementary.
Bonnie enjoyed bowling and participated in numerous roller dance competitions. She was a den mother for Tiger Cub Scouts, also a dedicated room mother for school, worked at Dapper Dan Drycleaners, YMCA Daycare, Nora's Candy Shop, GE, and Mele’s. She also made cakes and candies at her home.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Frank) Mastraccio and Donna (Mark) Parker both of Rome; sons, James (Ana) DeHart of Marlborough, MA and Jason (Janelle) DeHart of Lee Center; step-children, Jolene Moorehead, and George (Edie) Moorehead; grandchildren, Frankie (Kate), Joey, Anthony, Noelle, Cassie (Jake), Andrew, Renee, Hector, Zachery, BreAnne, and Brielle, Melissa, Jacob (Kristen); several great grandchildren; sisters in law, Janice and Linda Jennings; several nieces and nephews; and her two cherished friends, Betty and Janice. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Alyssa Findlay and Stephen Dwyer; sister, Donna Jennings; and brothers, Edward, William, Richard, and Wayne Jennings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 4 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 PM prior to the service.
