Obituary of Frank A. Enos
Frank A. Enos, 63, of Rome, NY passed away on January 28th, 2024 surrounded by the love of family after a long, courageous, and hard fight against cancer for the second time in his life.
Frank was born on April 17, 1960 to the late Frank P. and Nellie M. Enos in Rome, NY. He met his wife Laura in 1977 while they were both young and vivacious teenagers, and they married in 1979. In the years that followed their 44 years of marriage, they welcomed four children, Frank P. Enos II, Jacob A. Enos, Stephanie M. Enos and Makenzi L. Enos, and nine grandchildren Frank A. II, Liviella, Helena, Isabella, Julia, Troy, Leah, Chase, and Lola.
Frank was an avid lover of music and filled his home with the sounds of his favorite songs from all decades, with the loudest being “Black Betty.” There was nothing in his life that he did in moderation. He loved big and fought hard over every obstacle that he ever faced. While some may say he was stubborn, he knew exactly what he wanted in life up to his very last moments.
Frank was predeceased by his father, Frank P. Enos; mother, Nellie M. Enos; sister, Margaret Underwood; and brother-in-law, Roger Underwood. He is survived by his wife Laura; children and their partners, Frank P. Enos II and wife, Renee, Jacob A. Enos and wife, Dixie, Stephanie M. Enos and boyfriend, Travis, and Makenzi L. Enos and fiancé, Joshua; all of his nine grandchildren; sisters, Kathy (Joseph Grabowski), Cris (Fred Dipaolo), and Patti (Rick Jackson); and brother, William (Amy Enos).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made, in Frank’s name, to Hospice & Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer and Eastern Madison Counties.
The Enos family would like to pay special thanks to Deb, Kim, Brittany (RN), Cari, Holly, Brittany (Social Worker) of Hospice and Maggie, Helena, Denise, Christina, and Dan of Oneida Health Cancer Care for their outstanding care and compassion to Frank and our family during this challenging period.
Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street, on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. A service will follow the calling hours.
In the words of Frank, “And no one could change my mind, but mama tried.”
