Obituary of Charleen J. Baker
Charleen J. Baker, age 80, of Taberg, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 13, 1943, in the Town of Lee, a daughter of the late Ernest and Vivian Beck Megerell, and educated in Rome schools. Charleen was united in marriage to William L. Baker, on April 30, 1960, at the Lee United Methodist Church; he died June 1, 2020. She served as activities assistant at the former Stonehedge Nursing Home for many years.
Her hobbies included sewing craft items and playing Canasta with her friends and family.
Charleen is survived by her children and spouses, Linda and Al Boulerice of McConnellsville, William L. Baker, Jr. of Largo, FL, Bonnie and Dan Burke of Taberg, Debra Bates of Taberg, Sheila and Paul Pelton of Lee and Richard Baker of Taberg; sisters; Myrtle Witchley, Donna Reed and Kristy Bachmann Pickett and brother in law, Fritz Baker. Grandchildren, Brandi, Jeremi, Zebulen, William III, Scott, Nicole, Jason, Heidi, Beth Anne, Jeffrey, Tracy, Erica, Paul Jr, Samantha, Andrew, Victoria, and Abigail, and 32 great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Roscoe. She was predeceased by sisters, Marilyn Baker and Tina Reed and brothers, Clyde and Joe Megerell .
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Rome ICU staff and a special thank you to Dr. Robert Kottmann of the Pulmonary Unit at the University of Rochester Medicine.

The funeral service will be held Thursday February 22,2024 at 6:00 PM, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Spring interment will be in Lee State Road Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 3 to 6 PM, prior to the funeral service.
