Obituary of Thomas P. Federow

Thomas P. Federow, age 87, of Durhamville, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Tom was born in Rome on March 14, 1937 to the late George and Anna Markin Federow, and educated in the Rome Schools.  On March 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to the former Elsie Hall; a blessed union of 51 years until her passing on May 7, 2017. Tom worked for Red Star as a truck driver for many years.

He enjoyed restoring his 1949 Ford pickup, attending classic and cruise car shows, and playing pitch with family and friends.

Tom is survived by his son, Thomas Federow Jr. of Blossvale; sisters, Catherine Hall and Carol Federow; step-sons, Roy (Chris) Dust, and Albert (Diane) Dust; close friends, Daryl and Lisa Condon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Hall; brother, George Federow; and his K-9 companion, Roadrunner.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11 AM at Rome Cemetery, 1500 Jervis Ave, in section U-2 towards the back.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation, P.O. Box 4917, Rome, New York 13442, and/or the American heart Association.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
