Obituary of Larry L. Goudie
Larry L. Goudie, who was the love of his wife, Linda’s life, passed away peacefully, at the age of 77, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Rome Health.
Larry was born in Port Huron, Michigan on April 3, 1947 to the late Russell and Genevieve Taverna Goudie. He graduated from Port Huron High School in 1965 and attended St. Clair Community College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. On November 29, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Linda Pultynovich, in the Church of the Transfiguration. He worked at Cooper Industries in Syracuse, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church.
Larry was a loving husband, and together he and Linda enjoyed their many years of traveling. He was an active member of the Rome Elks, and Smith Post #24 American Legion. He also enjoyed golfing and cherished the many friends he met along the way.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sister, Lucille (Mike) Deline of Marysville, MI; brothers, John Goudie of Kalamazoo, MI, and Russell Goudie of Marysville, MI; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Christina Pultynovich; and sister-in-law, Collene Karges, who also was a great caregiver to Larry, after Linda’s recent surgery; several nieces and nephews, and godchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Goudie.
The funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM.
