Theodore J. "TJ" LaBouef, Jr., age 68, of Rome passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

TJ was born in Oswego, NY on May 21, 1956, to the late Theodore and Paula Waters LaBouef, and graduated from Oswego High School. On July 25, 1992, he was united in marriage to Cherryl, formerly Greer. He worked as a car mechanic for many years and retired from James Mitsubishi in Rome. 

TJ was a car enthusiast and drag racer. He was in several dart leagues and an avid sports fan, especially the NY Yankees and NY Jets. He was a life member of the American Ukrainian Club, the Ft. Stanwix Men's Club, Henry P. Smith Post American Legion #24, and the Rome Polish Home.

TJ was survived by his loving wife, Cherryl; daughter, Dana (Tony Schipano) LaBouef of Rome; sons, Daniel LaBouef of Zuni, VA, Brian (Jenn Sancomb) East, and Michael (Amanda) East both of Rome; eight grandchildren; sisters, Leslie (James) Schuneman of MI, Lisa DeLaMarre of NJ, Cynthia Soares of Rome, Karen (David) Barone of Rome, Teresa (Wayne) Hollebaugh of NC, Alicia Renee (Dan) Koeppel of MS, and Sandra (Dennis) Theriault of AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Brandie East. 

TJ's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Rome Health ER and Respiratory Departments, SUNY Upstate MICU, and his hospice nurses.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, from 5 to 8 PM at the American Ukrainian Club, 208 Canal Street, Rome.
