Obituary of Beverly Clauda Lim

Beverly Clauda Lee Lim, age 91, of Preswick Glen in New Hartford, and formerly a long-term resident of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, from complications of cancer.
Beverly was born in Brooklyn on August 31,1933 to Claude and Mabel Chan Lee and on September 21,1952 was united in marriage to George Lim, MD (deceased July 30, 2011). She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College, NYC. Some of her proudest moments were being President of the NYS Medical Society Women’s Auxiliary, setting up the Rome Hospital Gift Shop with other Rome Twig volunteers, establishing the Mohawk Valley Chinese Association, and being a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome.
Throughout her lifetime Beverly loved laughing and learning. She enjoyed drawing since childhood and started piano lessons at the ripe age of 85. She played golf and tennis at Teugega Country Club and enjoyed skiing at Wood’s Valley. Hilton Head, S.C. was always her favorite travel destination for relaxing and family gatherings.
Beverly is survived by her children: Diana Lim (Brad Preston) of Seattle, WA, Barbara Messineo, MD, of Boston, MA, Andrew Lim (Lori) of Rome, Carolyn Wojdyla (Edward) of Westernville, and Edward Lim, MD (Joanna) of Guilford, CT; her grandchildren include: Trevor Preston (Jackie Casper), Kent Preston, Zoë Lillis, Amanda Reynolds (Michael), Sara Sprouse (Jacob), Edward L. Wojdyla, Kaitlyn Wojdyla (Jason Batt), Emma Wolfe, Michael, Amelia, and Hannah Lim; her great-grandchildren are: Grace, Liam and Owen Reynolds; and Henley and Nora Sprouse. She was predeceased by her sister, Gladys Hu; and brother, Marvin Lee.
The funeral service will be on Saturday at 12 Noon, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral Home, Saturday from 10 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the funeral service.
