George Gregory Zacek passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving day at 11:15 am at Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital in New Hartford surrounded by his wife of 48 years, Mary Joyce Zacek, and 5 children Lenore (Paul) Castillo, Greg (Liz) Zacek, Russell (Marleigh) Zacek, Aaron (Jessie) Zacek, and Richard (Shelly) Zacek and his 15 grandchildren. George is also survived by his brother, Bradley Zacek of Rome, NY.
George was 67 years old and lived a wonderful life in the Village of Prospect, NY. He was a founding member of his church, Redeeming Love Fellowship, pastored by his youngest son, Richard J. Zacek. He was an avid golfer and member of Glass Hill golf course in Trenton Falls where he often played with his friends and family. George was a dedicated employee of Central New York Psychiatric Center in Marcy, NY and had recently retired from 48 years of service. George is well loved and will be missed as he gave much to the community, but he is celebrating in heaven with his savior, Jesus Christ and his parents, Peter and Delma Baker Zacek, and his brothers, Dennis, Peter, and Ronnie.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 3pm @ Redeeeming Love Fellowship- located at 9011 State Route 365 Stittville, NY. Family asked in lieu of flowers please make donations to Redeeming Love Fellowship.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
