John and I were colleagues early in our careers while he was serving in NY Conference and I was nearby in Troy Conference. We met and saw each other occasionally at joint activities like the Bishop's Convocation in the Catskills and I have followed his career with interest. John was one of the most sincere and devoted followers of Jesus Christ I have ever met. God's kingdom on earth is diminished by his departure.

I was really saddened to see the obituary for John. I only know John and Ginena from their stops at our Adirondack Cheese Store in Bareneveld as they would travel to their place on 4th lake. But we developed a friendship because of that and that I also have a place on the 4th lake. Always a pleasure when they stopped in. Ginena, I wish the best for you and hope that if you continue to cooperate me through that you will stop in. Tony Adirondack Cheese and Albedor

I am sorry for your loss. Please know that you and your family are being held in my prayers as I join all the others who pray for you. May you be held so close to Our Father's heart that you can feel His breath on your brow as He tells you :"My child I love you and I will carry you through all the turmoil and chaos of this life..."

To John's family and to Ginena specifically, my sympathies are with you in the loss of John. He was a clarion witness of the gospel of Jesus and a faithful steward of the church. I appreciated his work at Global Ministries and am proud to have a copy of his book, Faithful Witnesses, on my shelf. He was extremely kind to me when, after the death of my mother, I led a Mission study for the then Central New York Conference in Utica. Not only did he help me get the things I needed for my class but he was in my class and helped to gently guide it when I found myself too weary to even stand up to teach. He and Ginena picked me up and took me to the event and brought me home when it was over. Their caring for me, and his with the class, made it much better than it would have been without him. I was always glad to see him, to talk about the politics of the church and to share about our personal lives. And because I met him through our friendship, Ginena, I was touched by his love and care for you. John is gone too soon and I will miss him. I don't think I will ever look at a lighthouse and not think of him again. Grace and peace to all of you. Ginena, I am so sorry that you have lost his companionship. The days ahead will be difficult but his memories will bring some comfort and his love will remain in your heart always. Love and prayers to you all, Julie

Ginena and family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of John. I have many fond memories of him and am thankful for his missional spirit and the service which he provided to our Church and to our Lord. I regret that I did not get to the Masonic Care facility to visit with him, once he returned to this area. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

John and I were classmates in the D.Min. Program at Drew University, and most recently colleagues in the UNY Annual Conference. He was a great guy, very a bright and gifted leader. His life and his many gifts will be greatly missed. My deep and sincere, condolences to Ginena and the rest of John'd family and friends.
