Obituary of Michael G. LaMark

Michael Gordon LaMark, age 58, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital. Michael was born in West Point, NY on May 21, 1958 to the late Roy and Roslyn Kraus LaMark, and attended Rome Schools. He worked at several local automobile dealerships until he became a Service & Parts Director and eventually owned and operated his own business, European Auto, on Elizabeth Street in Utica for over 20 years. Michael enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved taking long drives and spending time with his family and friends. Michael is survived by his daughter, Sarah; a granddaughter, Emma; his siblings, Roy LaMark, Jr. of Rochester, Roger (Beverly) LaMark of Watertown, Dawn (Robert) Snowberger of Raeford, NC, Debra (Robert) Swantek of Topsail Island, NC, Roderick (Adele) LaMark of Holland Patent, and Michele (Tim) Owen of Rome; nieces and nephews, Roy III, George, Dawn, Tina, Shari, Roger, Jr., Robert, John, Michele, Rod Jr., Craig, Julie, and Kevin; several loving great nieces and nephews; his significant other, Valerie Gulla; and his special feline companions, Max and Mittens. There are no calling hours. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will follow immediately at Rome Cemetery.
