Obituary of JoAnn Alice Fish
Please share a memory of JoAnn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JoAnn A Watson-Waterman of Lee Center, NY left this world much too soon on Wednesday, June 29th, after a brief yet courageous fight against cancer, at the age of 49.
She was born on July 13th, 1966 to George and Donna Watson, both of whom preceded her in passing on. JoAnn was one of three children, including her sister Connie Jones, and brother George Watson Jr. Her early years had her growing up on both coasts of this country, living in New York and attending J.D. George Elementary School before moving to California with her family where her mother would end up meeting her second husband, Jim Schweizer.
JoAnn would move back to New York, marry her first husband Rodney Webster, and give birth to four sons, Andrew Webster, 31, Rodney Webster Jr., 27, Alex Webster, 25, and Adam Webster, 22.
Her marriage to Rodney would ultimately dissolve but the bond she formed with her children would not. She imparted to them many of her hobbies and joys including singing and playing guitar, reading, a love of horror films and true crime stories (once her sons were older), and most valuable of all, the importance of showing love and compassion for people of all walks of life.
It was the final chapter of JoAnn's life however where she truly had the chance to blossom when she met her soulmate, Arnie Waterman. The nine years they spent together were rich with love, respect, and a joy that radiated from them and positively affected the lives of their friends and family.
Though cancer took her life swiftly, her final days were spent surrounded by Connie, George, her four sons, her Aunt Pat, her many friends, and her soulmate, Arnie, who true to his love for her, was by her side through every step of her battle. JoAnn's spirit lives on in her lovingly caring nature, her kindness towards all those she met, and her compassion for all of God's creations, regardless of any differences they have.
A private ceremony celebrating her life has already been held, but her memory can still be honored by embracing those you care about and never being afraid to tell them how much you love them.
