MSG Rudolph Everett "Rudy" Seabron, age 57, of Rome, was suddenly taken from us on the morning of January 8, 2017. Rudy was born on February 21, 1959 in Norfolk, VA to the late John Everett and Bernice Marie Seabron. He was the oldest of three children. Rudy grew up in St. Albans, Queens, NY and while he was in high school, the family moved to Plattsburgh, NY. He graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1977. He attended SUNY Canton from 1977-1979, majoring in Liberal Arts & Sciences/Mechanical Technology. Rudy enlisted in the Marines in 1984 and proudly served his country for seven years. Since 2001, he had been serving in the New York Army National Guard and was part of the 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), 42nd Infantry Division as an Operations Sergeant. He was deployed several times to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. His personality led him to becoming a Team and Squad leader for several years, as well as being a respected friend and person. He also had several jobs outside of his military life including working at Birnie Bus as a mechanic and bus driver, and as a truck driver for Schneider and Werner transportation companies. Rudy was a member of the Zeta Alpha Pi Fraternity, as well as a lifelong member of the Rome VFW #2246. He enjoyed continuing his education and protecting his nation. He adored his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved to play with. He also enjoyed art, mechanics, reading and playing with his cats and dog. Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Hildegarde; sons, Jason Caro, Jeruf (Nicole) Caro, and Galin Seabron; his daughters, Erina and Cerissa Caro; a daughter in law, Celia Caro; grandchildren, Sebastian, Cyril, Catalina, Katie, Jason, Jaysen, Elina, Jaylen, Arybella, Aden, Matias, Julian, and Nolan; several siblings; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and friends. Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Please offer online condolences at: www.BarryFuneralHome.com. "This devastation caused by this tragedy can't be described. I still wish he were still alive. All we can do now is grin and bear, with hollow hearts as we sit and stare. This time isn't right for me to speak, so I'll just sit here and be meek. The truth will come to light you see, trust in due time, we'll grieve a bit more easily. This tragedy didn't just happen to me. I hope you'll congregate to see, the devastation across the nation that just simply cannot be. Be reassured he lives through each and every one of you."
