Brenda M. Schoff, age 58, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2017. Brenda was born in Rome on August 4, 1958 to the late Clarence and Helen Waligory Schoff. She graduated from RFA in 1976 and SUNY Oswego in 1980. Brenda also earned a Master's degree in Education from SUNY Albany. She taught Spanish for the Sharon Springs School District. Brenda was an avid sports fan and had a close affection for Duke Basketball and Coach Krzyzewski. She enjoyed jeopardy and other activities to test her witts. She had an array of knowledge in a wide variety of subjects. Brenda is survived by her sister, Marsha Schoff of Rome; her brother, Charles Schoff of Rome; and two nieces, Heather and Hali Schoff. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Leyden in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
