Obituary of Frank A. Sarasy

Frank A. Sarasy, age 67, of Frankfort and formerly of Rome, passed away April 12, 2017, with his loving family at his side. He was born September 19, 1949, in Queens, New York, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Hrbek Sarasy, and educated in NYC schools. He proudly served in the United Sates Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. Frank was united in marriage to the former Rita Hepworth, on May 27, 1995, in the Redeeming love Fellowship Church. He later drove bus for Coach USA for 20 years until he retired in 2014, due to health considerations. He was a member of Redeeming Love Fellowship Church and Rome VFW. Frank was a very active and civic minded person. He was a member of the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department and former member of the Lake Delta Volunteer Fired Department and former advisor to Troop 39, Boy Scouts in Oriskany. He loved to travel with his wife, Rita, often visiting antique car shows, family and friends. He enjoyed "oldies music" and old TV series, including "I Love Lucy" and "M.A.S.H.". He was an avid crossword puzzle solver, and often spent his mornings in fellowship at various men's bible study breakfasts. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Rita; a son, Michael Sarasy of Utica; stepchildren, Tessa Drake of Blossvale, Tonya Drake of Rome, and Wayne L. Drake of Sacramento, CA; two brothers, Louis Sarasy of Anderson, SC, and Steven Sarasy of Wilcox, PA; and his beloved grandchildren, Dillon, Darin and Daniel. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Sarasy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Redeeming Love Fellowship Church, 9011 State Route 365, Stittville, NY. Burial with Military Honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home Tuesday 4 to 7 PM, and Wednesday at 12 Noon to 1 PM at Redeeming Love Fellowship Church, prior to the funeral service.
