Obituary of Walter F Amann

Walter F. Amann, Jr., age 62, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2018. Wally was born September 17, 1955, on Staten Island, while his late father, Walter F. Amann, Sr., served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1973, where he enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. He continued his passion for these sports for many years. Wally was known for being the last union president at Rome Cable Corp. Wally also loved a good round of golf. Wally is survived by his beloved fiancée, Christine Kullmann; his mother, D. Arlene Riedel of Rome; a brother and sister in law, Todd and Suzanne Amann; a niece, Jenna, and nephew, Derek of Webster, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street
