Janie May Galla, age 76, of Sundown Road, Fulton, and formerly of Lee Center, passed away November 25, 2009.
She was born April 6, 1933, in Brownstown, Illinois, a daughter of Cecil and Vivian Sidwell Sawyer. Janie was united in marriage to Charles W. Galla, on the Ides of March, 1952, in Para, Illinois; he died February 27, 2008. She was a former member of the Lee Unity Seniors.
Janie was a true family person. She was a great partner with her husband, Charles, and always loved being with her children, grand and great, and great grandchildren. She was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She always had a garden and always canned her fruits and vegetables.
Janie is survived by five sons, William D. of Onondaga Hill, Donald D. of Fulton, Frederick A. of Liverpool, Robert E. of Rome, and James E. of North Syracuse; a sister, Clara Becker of Granite City, Ill; and a brother, John Sawyer of Missoula, MT; 19 Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 5:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday 2 to 5 PM, prior to the service.
